(My husband-to-be suggested the name)

Pelican! Yes! See my hand for size reference. He didn't take particularly long to make, although I will say the dark brown eyelash fabric his body is made of is a PAIN to work with. I also had to vacuum a lot. (He is really soft though :aww:) Materials: safety eyes, minky, craft fur from *BlowtorchForce, eyelash fabric, embroidery thread, felt (inside the feet for reinforcement)

So many of you I'm sure have heard of the ridiculously disastrous oil spill. Whenever I see photos of the poor pelicans all oiled up and sick I want to cry, and I really wish I could go down there and help clean them... even if most of them die from the poisons in their systems afterwards. Instead, I made Tony.

:star::star:His pattern is be available for download on Etsy (for $1)! ALL proceeds of the sale of his pattern will be donated to the Colbert Nation Gulf of America Fund!:star::star:

The plush you see above WAS made with the pattern (I *did* add embroidered detail on the wings, feet, and the yellow tuft on his head).

If you do buy the pattern and make your own Tony the PeliCAN (hurr see what I did there), tell me! Send me a photo! I want to see! :XD: I'll put your name here!

Aww Suza! you are such a good person!!I'm from New Orleans so it means a lot to see how much you care! ah, and if you were here they wouldn't let you help clean them anyway!>=( so you are doing way more for the effort than ppl actually from here!
that aside, I can't believe how beautiful your plushies are! they are so well made and adorable! I looked through the rest of your gallery! you could be the beanie babies of the 21st century! =)

it's neat to see how much goes into making them! how does a flat piece of cloth turn into that!=)

And aghjkg. I know what you mean about those poor birds. ;w; I saw Rob's post about the photos a bit back and god.... I fail to see why they let the spill go on.

Say there, what an awesomely nice idea!

And what a ginormous pelican. The words 'badass' and 'pelican' do not normally go together, but I think they do here.
